Kew Studio has one of the few open-access printing studios in London, with facilities for etching and screen printing.
Peg Morris is our Printmaking Technician and Etching Tutor. In her own art practice she draws, paints, makes etchings, collagraphs, monotypes, lithographs and artist’s books. She is a member of the Southbank Printmakers Gallery cooperative, the Printmakers Council, Richmond Printmakers and is the co-founder of KAOS (Kingston Artists’ Open Studios). Her work is held in the V&A archive and the Printmakers Council Archive at the Scarborough Art Gallery as well as in private collections across the UK and abroad. She has had work shortlisted for the RA Summer Exhibition and for the Royal Society of Marine Artists and was selected for the 2020 Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair where her work was featured in the Curator’s picks. She has exhibited her work widely in the UK and also in Germany.
Peg took a BA (Hons) Fine Art (painting) at Gloucestershire College of Arts and Technology, graduating in 1988, having first done a Foundation Course at North East Essex School of Art. She completed a PGCE in 1992 and spent many years teaching before gradually returning to making art full-time in 2007. She studied etching at Putney School of Art for a number of years from 1997 and has become addicted to printmaking in many forms. She is keen to share her love of all things printmaking-related with Kew Studio artists and visitors. If you would like to learn more about printmaking, tuition or joining Kew Studio as a print room member please contact Peg.
