The Year 2020.
2020. What a year! An extraordinary, tragic and unexpected year. In January we had no idea how all our lives would change.
For me, the greatest contrast has been between the beauty of the natural world and the horror of the coronavirus.
We had the most beautiful spring, fabulous colour and fragrance. Trees burst into blossom, and birds and animals thrived in the peace and quiet of lockdown. Children made rainbows for their windows and we all clapped for carers.
Summer saw glorious weather and record temperatures and our world opened up a little. Throughout the summer I exhibited in the Summer Show at the lovely Oliver Contemporary Gallery. And in September I flew away to Greece – two weeks of normal life!
With the end of the year another lockdown and back to life spent on Zoom. But with the news of a vaccine there is hope for 2021 and a return to more joyful times.
