This course teaches observational drawing techniques, providing learners with a progressive development of their skills. It is suitable for those with a little basic drawing experience, or those wishing to extend their technical skills. Each session starts with a structured technical warm-up exercise, followed by the opportunity to apply techniques using a choice of visual resources. As much or as little tutor support as required is available.
The class will look at different subjects each half term, from still life to wildlife, landscapes and the human figure. Techniques include effective use of line, form, perspective, proportion, shadow, colour and layout. Media included are soft pencils, charcoal, pastels and inks, used separately or mixed.
